Centuries ago, before the discovery of oil reserves, countries in the Middle East were ones considered to be the poorest nations. Geographically, this is not hard to justify. Their lands are mostly not conducive for farming because of the extreme hot weather and their soil are mostly sandy. This is the reason why history keeps on telling us that Arab nations are very persistent in conquering other lands, in search for good place to farm. But this trend was changed as soon as oil was discovered. Now, many of the world's richest individuals got their stake from their gargantuan oil companies. Many citizens from the Middle East are now considered to be the wealthiest, and their race are said to be the richest. We have Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and of course, the King of rapid growth, the United Arab Emirates.
Before, they were just famous for their camels, their cactus, plantations of rubber and Joshua trees, but now they are known for their wealth. These are the country of the people that were arguably the reason for many protest and demonstrations against the high price of oil.
Going back to base 1, it's the people of the world that have given these nations their great wealth. Cars have been roaming every street of America even before it happened in Saudi Arabia. These Arab nations were not the major user of their products.
Countries in the Middle East are known for their perseverance and aggressive approach when it comes to doing business. Dubai for example, is now one of the world's top city. It's a major business central where many major companies are based. But Dubai's fame was not easily achieved. It waited for a long time before its effort of becoming a world leader paid off.
That gives us the scratch. In a business, it's all about the determination and the efforts. It may take a long time, but it will pay off soon. You just have to wait.
