It was almost too easy and I was following a dream ..a simple dream of owning my own business!
I turned 40 and decided it was time to stop talking and start doing. Yes, yes, I had spent years at a desk selling my crap on ebay and the money was ok..but, the satisfaction was left to be seen. I did not want to do what everyone one else was doing..I wanted something special..something that was mine!
Of course, I started with so many ideas that my head could just explode and I couldn't sleep at night. I must have thought of every possible idea. Every possible product that could fit my special criteria , after all, I had little money, little knowledge, and little resources. Praying helped, oh course and searching the wholesale sights for some leads..any leads.. any ideas at all. And once I picked one thing... just one thing.. and focused on that one thing..everything after that just fell into place.
I gave myself an original name. Then I filled up my laptop with ideas, bookmarked all my wholesale leads, created folders for my fliers, pictures of my wonderful product, clients information, such as phone numbers, addresses and dates. I kept track of every dime I spent and where it went and income as well. I ran ads on craig'slist and added pictures. And I kept track of anyone's information who responded. I treated myself to a nice little weight briefcase, a small pocket calculator, some creative business cards, a fancy leather schedule book with a place for my contact information and a nice page-by-page calendar..and oh course a decent printer! Setting yourself up with a nice home office is so important! ..

I rented a medium size booth space in a swanky little mini mall in a small town. I provided a product that was in dire need for women in my area. And instead of sitting at a desk all day long..I made my way thru that little town and passed out business cards at every bank where I saw women and at the schools and hair salons and work-out places and pointed the way to my booth space..and let the ladies know I was willing to bring my product to them. I passed out flyers and discount coupons to draw in business. With little knowledge, little money and little resources.. I made a couple thousand dollars my first month and interested enough women in my product to carry me through the next six months. Long-time dreams are for sissys.. there is a time to dream and a time to do! It helped to have a great google lead to wholesale companies worldwide. www.wholesalersnetwork.com/merchandise/index.htm
It wasn't about the money..It was about reality! And you can do it too! All you need is a little dream and a lotta want!
