Are Online Businesses Stable?I recently visited a forum on entrepreneurship just to get some more tips and ideas on how we can be effective entrepreneurs. One particular thread that got my interest is about online businesses and their reliability as a steady source of income.~~ One participant in the thread emphasized that online businesses and jobs should never be used as an alternative to "real-world" earning opportunities, for the former are supposed to be less reliable and less stable that jobs that we can physically see ourselves participating in. For some reason, going to an actual office with an actual building still exudes that kind of stability and business safety that is especially important these days. Well, wrong. I can give you a dozen people (or even more) that I know who have given up their day jobs just to concentrate on their online money-making careers because it is more lucrative that way. One of those people I know easily make more than $200K annually after he chose to leave his day job and concentrate on his online businesses. It is true that these online businesses may turn out to lose money--but this is just like those physical businesses that most people here are still accustomed to. With proper management and dedication, nothing should stop your online business from prospering. It also helps that you consider your online money-making ventures as actual businesses and not just sidelines. This way, you may be able to give more importance to them. My friend also advises me to stay away from online social networks and other relatively addicting websites because they are real time-wasters. The online arena remains relatively young and untested. They are, of course, much younger than their physical counterparts, but what differentiates it from the latter is that it is a growing market with a number of key companies actually making a lot of real money here. It is growing at extreme paces that the physical market may haven't experienced before. If these businesses prosper here, then why can't you? |
