We provide a fully automated online international debt collection service.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We spent too much money with other debt collection firms that charged too much money. Setting up our own service has saved us and other companies thousands of dollars.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
1999. A publishing site at http://www.copybook.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I was brought up in a house named Avonmere
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
No other company in the world offers our low fee system for collecting debts. For example: If someone owes you $1 million, we would only charge �50 to collect it. On the other hand, if someone owed you �100 we would still charge �50 to collect it. The is no discrimination or commission regardless of the size of the debt.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To set up more international offices and keep people happy, recovering their money without over charging them.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I am fortunate to run six different international businesses and my debt firm saves all of these companies time and money. That equals success which I simply want to offer to others.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
The site will be changed in the near future and will meet all the changes I require.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. I have a team of dedicated staff that constantly monitor the progress of our website. Also, the way we have set it up allows the site to be autometed to a certain degree.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Initially web designers took too long to get the site up and running. It over ran for nearly a year which resulted in us losing some money that we could have otherwise collected and we could also have helped others during that period if it had been running.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting to the top of google under the search term Debt Collection
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Joining the right associations and link building with reputable websites.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Not really. The other companies I run are mainly online and so it has been a question of getting this site to do exactly what we and our customers want.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been in operation for approximately 3 years. I really enjoy have all of my businesses and yearn for more.
What is the difference between Avonmere and other debt collection companies
Some companies provide some of our services but not all of them. EG: We collect for individuals and companies and do not discriminate between the two. We charge NO commission for any debt. We never have access to or hold on to our customers money. We have a success rate of over 97% for debts that are under six months old. We offer a truly online service that enables the user to track our progress and liaise with the debtor if necessary.
