Just recently, we all said goodbye to the brains behind the giant software company we all loved, well at least I loved him. Bill Gates, now 52, finally bid goodbye to the company he co-founded opposite Paul Allen. It is the same company that made him the world's richest person for 13 straight years and the company also made a couple of people billionaires through stocks when the company went public in 1986. However, his resignation will mean more philanthropic activities. Now that he is already in the 'advance' age, it's time to think of being a full time philanthropist. However, I'm kinda worried of what will Microsoft's future be now that the guiding light was turned off.
I'm pretty CEO Steve Ballmer can do his job properly having been the company leader for the last 8 years. This decision can either become Microsoft's make or break. For the past few years, Microsoft has not been doing pretty well as compared to their early years. Will that trend continue now that Mr. Gates is out or will it come to an end and bring Microsoft to the top of the limelight once again with new officers?
I have been admiring Bill Gates since I was a kid. I like his courageous approach when it comes to business, risking things and stuffs like that to gain bigger market share.
My father once told me he's one of the most terrible man in the business because he is trying to monopolize the business. That was sort of true, but it was already in the past. I'm not looking at it as a bad thing actually, everyone wants to rule the market. Although it's also right to say that we must give chances to other to have what we call a "healthy competition".
Now we won't be seeing a lot of Mr. Gates, but I do hope we would hear from him once in a while and give us updates of his philanthropy.
