Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Isaac Asimov, Mark Twain, John Steinbeck, William Golding - what these people do have in common? They are all world renown authors and novelist. I wrote them down because they are my favorites and I believe you them as well.

Many famous authors of our time have the passion for writing. Most of them wrote their masterpieces with deep emotion and you can really sense it while reading their works. In particular, I love Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Charles Dicken's Tale of Two Cities and William Golding's Lord of the Flies.

Their works are a combination of imagination and reality, thus, the reader is taken to a new world where you feel you are inside the book and you are actually interacting with the characters.

But all of their works will not be published and will not be known to everyone of us if not with the use of pens. They are the silent heroes, the weapons of these famous writers. Most of our favorite writing were written in the time where computers are not yet invented. They manually wrote down those hundreds of pages of ideas by their pens. Without those pens, those writers are not writers. No one can read their works if they just wrote them on air.

People commonly use pens to write their love for some, their love for something and even love for their country.

For one, the Philippine's National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, became known to his fellow Filipinos not because he used guns or deadly arms to show his patriotism. Instead, he was known for using the silent way of protest. He wrote novels showing his feelings towards the Spanish ruling at that time. He called for national unity by using his power of writing.

Indeed, pens are very important part of the history and of our lives. Really, pens are writers best friend.

Its amazing how in just a few seconds, from a mixture of water, some chemicals and some shaking, your paper is already finish.

I have seen paper making before but not like that. There is no machine used. That is one of the activities we did in grade school, making of hand made papers and we used old papers.

Paper recycling may look easy but its actually a test of patience and precision. Papers wont be papers without patience because you have to do the process over and over again and to think that you can only make a single sheet out of one mould. So for you to be able to make papers for a book or for your diaries, it will take you a lot of time. It takes precision because papers that you will be producing must be of good quality or else it will not be good for writing. You have to mix the chemicals precisely and you have to make use of the time precisely because over "cooking" of paper is not good.

So next time you take a piece of paper, look at it and check how good the paper is. And feel the presence of the people who made it, ha ha!

In his argument, he discussed how annoying the politics have been inside the office he is working for. He is Vice President of the productions and designs of a Graphic Design company. He did a great jobs for the last 8 projects they have engaged in. He was near promotion, when unfortunately, the old Chairman of the company fell ill and have to be replaced by his younger son. The promotion he had been waiting for, that is rightfully his, was given to a new employee. That employee has only been in the company for less than 6 months and was a known friend of the Chairman's son.

Having heard his story, I felt sorry for him. I known how hardworking my friend is and how dedicated he is to his job. However, I cannot do anything for him.

Office politics has always been a problem in many firms and companies. This has been a lifelong issue that has never been resolved. Sad to say, politics inside the office is practiced globally. This is a bad habit most high officials do and they are proudly committing it as if no ones looking and no ones listening. It is a clear insult and a clear sign of being unfair.

But I guess that really is life, and that is really business. But sometimes there are people who defy the office politicians and eventually win. But you can count them in your finger. Office politics is a severe situation inside corporations and even small firms. Though hard, its preventable. Just put in their face your skills and your achievements, show them who really is deserving for the position, for that certain prize. After all, you worked hard on it, and its rightful reward.

For my friend, he decided that this will be his last month in the company. An action that most of the loosers in politics do. I suggested that he stand firm on his position and it will be rewarded some other time. But for him, its all over. I cannot change his mind, all I can do is wish him good luck.
