When I was a kid, my mom would always yell at me when I leave my toys behind unarranaged. She would then yell again every afternoon when I came home from school because I did not fix my bed before I left the house. Ahh, those were the days. And now that I have my own house, I know how it feels when your house is in a state of 'disaster'. I really deserved those yells and sermons.
I can be really untidy in the house specially when I'm busy. But most of the time I see to it that I clean the house, because it's never good to go home from an exhausting day and see your house is all messed up. I also bought storage furnitures to make storage-worthy things easily stalled in a position that will look tidy so visitors will never be shock at how messy the house is.
This is also the same with my home office. Before, my office used to be so messy with all those papers in the table. I will often ask my nephews to clean the mess for me. Most of the time they follow but they are students so I don't oblige them to do it. So will say that I will just clean it when I have enough time, which usually take weeks.
The solution I did was to buy office furniture like book shelves, paper holders and boxes. I also have my office table repaired and I told them to install additional drawers underneath it so I have a lot room for storage.
I don't want to be back at being untidy again. I don't want to see my house and office messy again. And I don't want this thing to happen when a visitor visits my house.
Tidy up and put your things in place.
