I have always been using Windows ever since. When I learned how to use a computer, the first OS that was running it was from Bill Gates' Microsoft. I actually didn't know there is also a Mac that time. When the Windows commercial "I'm a PC" was aired, I even started saying "I'm a PC, I'm a PC!". And then a few years ago, I was able to have my very own Apple laptop. It was very hard to get by at first, but I finally learned my way through it. Though I really can't say that Mac is superior over Windows, I am certain to say that Mac and it's OS X rocks when it comes to graphical displays. I was able to use that feature for my work. Up to now I am still using a Mac but only for its display features, but most often I still rely on my Windows PC. For some reason, I still feel at home using it that Steve Jobs' products.
A few days ago, I have made a big decision. It's a decision that will start the change in my computer ways. I have switched from using Windows and Mac to Linux Ubuntu.
I have heard of Ubuntu for a lot of time before. I actually have some friends who are using it and they prefer it over Mac and Windows. So I told myself why not give it a try.
Like any new things, I am learning Ubuntu piece by piece. I am starting to learn how to maximize its use, although I have already felt probably its best feature, faster browsing. I don't know why, but my internet is faster using Ubuntu. I also love the appearance change feature. I always change my desktop background form time to time, and with Ubuntu, not only the wallpaper that I got to change, but the whole appearance itself like the size, color and style of the taskbar and the menus.
Perhaps the only thing I still have to learn in Ubuntu is how to install my favorite online games. When I tried to install my Ragnarok Online application, it says its not supported. And also I have to learn installing my Yahoo Messenger, Skype and MSN because Ubuntu is still not supporting them, or perhaps I just don't know how. Ubuntu has a messenger that can be accessed through your Yahoo Messenger accounts but you know, it still feels good when you're on the original application.
So far I am happy with my Ubuntu performance. Although I still switch from it to Windows Vista for some things I need to do like chatting with my friends and love ones.
