We often heard of people's success is attributed to their level of education. We often hear people saying those who did not finished their education will just stay on mid-air, but those who did will go up above the sky. I was the youngest of the four children. My parents are well accomplished, well educated and are noted for their respective fields. My siblings are the same. One of my sisters is a lawyer, the other one is a college professor and a registered chemist and my only brother is architect who works for the navy. And me, I do not have any profession I can boast. As the youngest child, I have the pressure of following the steps of my siblings and parents who have finished their education and became successful in their lives.
I went to college and take a medical course because my parents told me they wanted me to become a doctor like my father. But after 2 years in my pre-med, I quit. I guess it's really not what I wanted to be. Since I was a kid I dreamed of becoming a photographer and an aviator. I love to travel and take photos. Though I gave the biggest disappointment in the family, I followed what I wanted to be. I enrolled myself in a photography school and work at the same time because my parents stop supporting me with my educational needs. I graduated and became a photographer. It was hard at first, but I did manage to land on jobs that require my skills. I built my own studio and started to harvest the fruits of my decision. Though I am already in good terms with my parents, I still feel their frustration over me.
I still plan on taking an aviation course as soon as I have earned enough. Though I know it will take some time, but I don't care, I have to prove them I can succeed with my own will.
Another one famous person I know who did not have any degree of education in his chosen field but succeed is the founder of Apple Inc., Steve Jobs. Mr. Jobs did not have any have diploma to show you or to boast of, but he has Apple, and that's enough proof of his success. It doesn't mean that just because you did not finish school you will not go further with your dreams. But always remember that if you have all the means and all the opportunity to go to school and educate yourself, do it. Education is still the best weapon for your future. But in case you really do not have the means, do not lose hope. Be confident to risk everything to get you to your goals. It's all worth trying.
